Author Guidelines

BINEKA : Journal of Business, Economics and Accounting is the Journal of Economics and Business - Dumai University. BINEKA is a journal that provides a forum for publishing original research articles, review articles from contributors, and new technology news related to business, economics, and accounting.

Research articles covering business, economics, and accounting, among other topics, are welcome. The journal includes research articles, original research reports, reviews, short communications, and scholarly commentaries in the fields of Islamic economics, banking, and finance.

All papers submitted to Bineka : Journal of Business, Economics and Accounting must be written in Indonesian or English. The work has not been published or submitted for publication elsewhere. The official languages of manuscripts to be published in Bineka : Journal of Business, Economics and Accounting are Indonesian and English.

  1. General Guidelines for Authors

All manuscripts must be submitted to the Bineka Editorial Office via Online Submission on the E-Journal portal address: https://jurnal.universitasdumai.ac.id/index.php/jurnal-fakultas-ekonomi/submissions where authors register as Authors and/or are offered as Reviewers online.

Three types of manuscripts are acceptable for publication: Original Research Articles, Review Articles, and Short Communications.

  1. Manuscript review

Each submitted paper will be independently reviewed by at least two peer reviewers. The decision to publish, amend, or reject the manuscript will be based on their reports/recommendations. If two or more reviewers consider a manuscript unsuitable for publication in this journal, a statement explaining the basis for that decision will be sent to the author within three months of the submission date.

  1. Revise the manuscript

Manuscripts returned to the author for revision must be returned to the editor promptly. Revised manuscripts can be submitted to the editorial office via the Online Submission Interface ( https://jurnal.universitasdumai.ac.id/index.php/jurnal-fakultas-ekonomi ). Revised manuscripts returned more than three months later will be considered as new manuscripts.

  1. Online Submission Guide

Authors must first register as Authors and/or be offered as Reviewers through the following address: https://jurnal.universitasdumai.ac.id/index.php/jurnal-fakultas-ekonomi/login

Authors should complete the form as thoroughly as possible, especially if the fields marked with an asterisk are required. Once all the form fields are filled in, the Author should click the "Register" button to proceed. The Author will be redirected to the online submission interface, where the Author should click "New Submission." In the "Start New Submission" section, click " 'Click Here': to proceed to the first of the five-step submission process." The five steps in the online submission process are as follows:

  1. Step 1 - Initiating Submission: Select the appropriate journal section, e.g., Original Research Article, Review Article, or Short Communication. Therefore, authors should tick the submission checklist.
  2. Step 2 – Uploading Manuscripts: To upload a manuscript to this journal, click Browse on the Upload submission file item and select the manuscript document file to be submitted, then click the Upload button.
  3. Step 3 – Entering Manuscript Metadata: In this step, detailed author metadata must be entered, including the designated corresponding author. After that, the manuscript title and abstract must be uploaded by copying and pasting the text into the text box along with the keywords.
  4. Step 4 – Upload Additional Files: Additional files must be uploaded, including the Cover Letter/Application. Therefore, click the Browse button, select the files, and then click the Upload button.
  5. Step 5 – Submission Confirmation: Authors must review the manuscript documents uploaded in this step. To submit the manuscript to Bineka: Jurnal Bisnis, Ekonomi dan Akuntansi, click the Complete Submission button after the documents are declared valid. The corresponding author or primary contact will receive confirmation via email and can track the submission's progress through the editorial process by logging in to the journal's website.

After submission, the author will receive a confirmation email. Authors can track the status of their submission at any time by logging into the online submission interface. Submission tracking includes the status of the manuscript's review and editing process.

All articles published in Open Access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download. We continue to work with our author community to select the best licensing option, which is currently defined for this journal as follows:

  1. Guidelines for Manuscript Preparation

8.1. The manuscript is the result of academic research in the fields of business, economics, and accounting.

8.2. After the manuscript is published, the author must provide a statement stating that the manuscript has not been, or is being considered for, publication in another journal.

8.3. Manuscript structure

  1. Title. The title should be short, clear, and informative, but no longer than 12 words.
  2. Author's name and institution. The author's name must be accompanied by the author's institution and email address, without academic title and/or position.
  3. Abstract and keywords. That The abstract should be less than 150 words. Keywords should consist of 2 to 5 phrases.
  4. Introduction. This section explains the background of the research and the purpose of the manuscript. This section should be written without numbering and/or instructions.
  5. Literature Review. This section explains the theoretical framework used in this study, as well as a review of previous research in the same field.
  6. Methods. This section describes the analysis tools along with the data and their sources.
  7. Discussion. This section explains the research results.
  8. Conclusion. This section concludes and provides policy implications, if any, of this research.
  9. References. This section only lists papers, books, or other types of publications referenced in the manuscript.

8.4. Authors must include a subject index, which lists specific terms in the manuscript. Authors must also include an author index, which lists the main authors of the papers referenced in the manuscript. Please list the surname followed by the first name.

8.5. Estimation results from software packages should not be presented directly in the paper. Estimation results should be presented in the form of equations with the corresponding estimation results.

8.6. Tables should only contain a title and table of contents. Please include a top and bottom row, along with a line separating the title and table of contents. Example:

8.7 Acknowledgments, if any, should be written as a footnote to the title of the manuscript.

8.8 Manuscripts should be written on A-4 paper, single-sided, and double-spaced. New paragraphs should begin 5 characters from the left margin, using Cambria font, size 12.

8.9 The manuscript must be at least 1.5 pages.

8.10 The top and bottom margins are 1 inch.

8.11 The title is written using capital letters size 14, center position.

8.12 Subtitles are written in capital letters, starting from the left margin.

8.13 Subtitles are written using capital letters only at the beginning of each word, except conjunctions. Subtitles must start at the left margin.

8.14 References should be publications within the last ten years, unless they are key references.

8.15 In-text citations should be written using the surname and year of publication. Example:

The bibliography consists of at least 10 references from primary data sources (research articles in scientific journals) and other secondary data sources (research reports, news articles in newspapers, etc.), arranged alphabetically. This bibliography adheres to APA style standards and uses Mendeley reference management.

8.16. Tables and figures should be presented as follows:

  1. Table and figure names must follow the Arabic numbering system. Table and figure names are placed at the top and bottom of the table, respectively.
  2. Tables and figures should cite the source of the information, if any, at the bottom of both.

8.17. References should be written alphabetically, without numbers. References should be written with the following criteria:

8.18. A short CV including full name, academic title, institution, telephone, fax, and mobile phone numbers must be attached to the manuscript.
