Journal History

BINEKA (Business, Economics, and Accounting) was established in October 2025 as a scientific journal managed by the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Dumai. Its establishment marked an important academic development two years after the Faculty of Economics and Business was founded.

BINEKA was created to provide an academic publication platform for lecturers, researchers, practitioners, professionals, and students. The journal publishes original research articles, conceptual studies, literature reviews, and other scholarly works in the fields of business and management, economics, and accounting.

The first edition, Volume 1, Number 1, was published in October 2025. This inaugural edition represented the Faculty’s commitment to supporting research, strengthening academic discussion, and disseminating scientific knowledge to wider communities.

Since its establishment, BINEKA has applied an open-access publication model. All published articles are freely available to readers through the journal’s official website. Submitted manuscripts undergo editorial screening and a peer-review process to maintain their originality, relevance, and academic quality.

The management and publication of BINEKA are fully supported by the Center for Research and Community Service of Universitas Dumai. This institutional support allows the journal to provide manuscript submission, peer review, editing, and publication services without charging authors.

BINEKA continues to improve its editorial management, publication standards, digital accessibility, and indexing coverage. Through these efforts, the journal aims to become a credible platform for scholarly communication and contribute to the development of business, economics, and accounting research at local, national, and international levels.
